All grown up but, where are they now? Just before Disney’s Lizzie McGuire ended in 2004, actress and singer Lalaine branched away from the series early on to pursue her music career.

Before scoring a role a Lizzie’s best friend, Miranda, Lalaine had been acting since she was a young child in many commercials ads. She began taking bigger leaps towards her acting when she was cast in the television film version of the popular Broadway musical comedy, “Annie.”

Her talent as a singer was recognized during the series in an episode entitled “Random Acts of Miranda,“ where she pursuing acting and her character realized that singing was more of her muse. While still with Disney on the show, her first album, Inside Story, was released in 2003. Lalaine made some success with Radio Disney and did covers of Disney classics, such as Cruella de Vil from “101 Dalmatians.” She also sang the main song for the Disney movie she starred in, both entitled “You Wish.”

Lalaine went on to perform for various events around California and her most successful single was “I’m Not Your Girl,” which she performed on the last episode of the popular Nickelodeon series, All That. She went on to become a spokesperson for VO5 hair care products. This girl was constantly on the move with her music and acting but, as previously was stated …where is she now?

imageAfter a minor run-in with the law back in 2007, Lalaine went back into the studio pumped up to continue recording alternative, pop and punk music. Some unreleased material from a second album has been leaked onto the net, so we know she’s still writing her music. She recently filmed along side the late Pat Morita in “Royal Kill,” which was released this past April and is looking on to do more roles. In an interview with desiyou.com, Lalaine looked healthy and energetic as she was talking about her latest movie and her acting experience to date.
It’s more than obvious that Lalaine has come out of her child star shell. After a few more series of fortunate events, we hope to see this woman doing more big things.
